DIY Nail Art Tutorial – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Inspired Design

Hello guys and welcome to a Nail and Brush video.

In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to do this stylised nail art design inspired by the dorky and cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cowabunga! Let’s get started! First, apply a coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat.

Make sure you always do this to protect your nails.

Next, grab a white polish.

Apply a coat onto your nails for the background color.

For the next part, you will need a yellow nail color and a green one.

Get a porous make-up sponge and stripe on the two colors like this.

Sponge the colors on using a sweep motion first, then dab to concentrate the color.

I’m trying to simulate the color of a tortoise shell.

Clean-up brigade! Use a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover.

For the pattern of the tortoise shell, use black polish and a thin brush.

Start at the base of the nail, in the centre, and draw a short vertical line.

Do a little “V” coming off the end of that short line.

Draw two little parallel lines at the end of the “V” for a hexagonal shape.

To give you a guide, do another vertical line at the centre of the nail, this time at the tip.

Finish up the hexagon.

To complete the pattern, do lines coming off each corner of the hexagon.

Get your orange nail polish.

Fill in the bottom right-hand hexagon.

I’ve filled in each finger with a colour that represents each of the Ninja Turtles.

Orange for Michelangelo.

Blue for Leonardo.

Red for Raphael.

And Purple for Donatello.

I will list details of each nail polish colour used in description box down below.

For my thumb I’ve done gray for Splinter! Complete the look with a top coat and you’re done! I hope you liked my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles inspired nail art design! I think the turtles are so adorable in their quirky and dorky ways! This is one for those of you who grew up with the cartoons like I did! Thanks for watching and I hope you learnt something.
